Arrival in Agrigento and visit  of the beautiful Valley of the Temples, an exceptional historic testimony to Magna Graecia’s presence in this area. The archaeological site at Agrigento was inserted into the UNESCO Worls Heritage List in 1997. The remains from the Hellenic city, and additionally from the successive Punic-Roman era, the imposing Doric temples, the agora, the necropolises and the crawling network of subterranean acqueducts, constitute the richness of this site, extending over approximately 1300 hectares.
Departure for Piazza Armerina and visit of the “Roman Villa of Casale”, which is one of the largest Roman villa’s to exist. The “Roman Villa of Casale” dates back to the year between 330 – 360 A.C. The Villa has 3500 sq. mts of mosaics as pavements and some wall murals. It hosts scenes of daily living, hunting scenes etc.
Return to the hotel in the afternoon.
